Report of the 2nd edition of the International Conference „Students in Animal Science and Aquaculture – challenges and research”

konferencja logoOn May 9, 2023, the 2nd edition of the International Scientific Conference „Students in Animal Science and Aquaculture – challenges and research” was held on-line via the MS Teams platform. The conference was organized by the Institute of Animal Sciences, the Polish Society of Animal Production and the student Scientific Circle of Livestock Breeders.

The conference is an initiative aimed at creating a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience of students of faculties related to animal sciences and aquaculture. During the event, 28 reports were presented – whose authors were representatives of scientific units from Poland, Germany, Italy, Iraq, United Kingdom, Ireland and Nigeria. The reports were divided into 3 parts.

The first opening conference consisted of three plenary speeches, attended by 61 people:

The second part consisted of thematic sessions: Animal nutrition (9 presentations – 45 logged-in people), Animal welfare and health (9 presentations – 40 logged-in people), Quality of animal products (7 presentations – 30 logged-in people). The third part was the part summarizing the conference with 45 people logged in.

The event was held under the Honorary Patronage of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development – Robert Telus and the Vice-Rector for Didactics of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, prof. dr hab. Jarosław Gołębiewski, Substantive patronage by the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish branch of the World Poultry Science Association, Patronage by the Polish Horse Breeders Association, Polish Association of Pig Breeders and Producers „POLSUS”, Polish Association of Beef Cattle Breeders and Producers, Media patronage by Przegląd Hodowlany, Polish Poultry, Fauna&Flora, Pigs and Breeder and Rider.
