ZAPROSZENIE na spotkanie z cyklu „Wędrówki przyrodnicze”
Studenci z Sekcji Zoologicznej Koła Naukowego Wydziału Hodowli, Bioinżynierii i Ochrony Zwierząt zapraszają na spotkanie w ramach cyklu „Wędrówki przyrodnicze”, które odbędzie się w dniu 16 października 2019r. o godz. 18.00.
W programie dwa wykłady naszych gości:
1. Gowri Shankar „A glimpse into natural history and species delimitation of king cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) using multi locus DNA analysis”.
Gowri Shankar is Founder Director of Kalinga Centre for Rainforest Ecology, based in Agumbe (Karnataka, India) and focuses primarily on studying and conserving King Cobras. His scientific interests lie in studying the ecology, breeding biology, and conservation biology of King Cobras, and finds it very important and satisfying to share his passion and knowledge through hands-on education programs, particularly with the younger generation.

2. Joe Wasilewski „Invasive Herpetofauna in Florida, USA and the Caribbean”
Joe Wasilewski, conservation biologist from the United States will present his work with invasive reptile species in the state of Florida, the Bahamas and many Caribbean Islands. The recent introduction/rapid spread of many reptile and amphibian species is becoming a huge issue for many ecosystems and the native flora/fauna. Many of these problems will be
discussed, as will methods for removal but more importantly stopping the introductions before their numbers become uncontrollable.
