  • Standards for agricultural farms;
  • Colostrum of the sheep and mare milk – production, processing and application in treatments of patients; together with the August Cieszkowski Agricultural University in Poznań, Faculty of Food Technology;
  • WELFOOD Project – Impact of horses on environment and of the environment on horses. Elaboration entitled: Promoting quality assurance in animal welfare – environment – for quality interaction studied through upgraded e-Learning. The range of the subjects of diploma papers

Farm of the Division

Didactic Stable of the Horse Breeding Division of SGGW

The object Didactic Stable has two box stables (new and old one) at its disposal; there is a place for 40 horses. There is also a roofed indoor horse riding hall and two squares for riding. The main purpose of the activities is to conduct the practical exercises for students of evening studies (Speciality: Horse Breeding) and the classes for students of Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) within the frames of physical education. The most of these rides is intended for beginners and weak riders. There are also recreation courses for the persons outside the University. All operations are conducted by the instructors. Owing to the fact that the object has indoor riding hall, the rides take place the whole year, irrespectively of the weather conditions. The horses are also utilized when conducting the classes from the subject “Horse breeding” for the students of stationary and extra-mural studies of Faculty of Animal Sciences and for the students of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

A part of the boxes is intended for accommodation of the horses, belonging to private persons.

In Didactic Stable, there are implemented the studies concerning the following problems:

  • Conditions of horse management,
  • Zoohygienic conditions in the stables,
  • Effect of training on health and effort capacities of horses

 

Advisory activity and services

  • Expertises concerning various aspects of management, breeding and utilization of horses, training programmes in secondary education,
  • Participation in program councils of hippological publishing houses, cooperation with their editorial offices,
  • Scientific consultations of book publications in the field of management, breeding and utilization of horses,
  • Substantial consultations of book translations in the field of management, breeding and utilization of horses,
  • Opinion-issuing on documents, projects and legislation amendments in the field of management, breeding and utilization of horses,
  • Running the courses: instructors of kinetic recreation in speciality: horse riding; instructors of hippotherapy, instructors of horse riding of Polish Equestrian Association (PZJ); trainers and judges during horse races,
  • Lectures during post-diploma studies,
  • Training of breeders and veterinary surgeons,
  • Lectures, ordered by various breeding entities, sport organizations, etc.,
  • Judging during breeding shows and exhibitions,
  • Judging during horse races,
  • Membership in the commissions of herd books of wielkopolski and half-blood noble horses.
