ELLS Summer school: Bioeconomy 14 September 2018, University of Hohenheim, Germany

Bioeconomy-620x500oIn a two week program the Summer School in Bioeconomy will give you an insight into the whole life cycle of bio-based materials: Bioenergy, Biomaterials, Food technology, as well as Socio-economic and ethical aspects of a future Bioeconomy. Furthermore the different national systems of Bioeconomics are part of the course. Deadline for application: 30th April 2018 or until places are filled.

This Summer School is an international cooperation within the scope of the Euroleague for Life  Sciences  (ELLS) and is organised by faculties and departments that join forces from various fields of expertise (e.g. renewable energy, primary production, food science, economy/marketing) under an umbrella of “bioeconomy”. It addresses bioeconomy issues in interdisciplinary views and aims to bring students and teachers from various countries and fields to work together in order to discuss and talk about actual topics and problems of bioeconomy.

In a mix of lectures, laboratory experience and excursions professors of the ELLS partner universities and other international experts teach you more about the topic Bio-based Economy in an interactive way and in an international surrounding.

The Organic Agricultural Systems and Agroecology (EUR-Organic)
is a programme in cooperation with the Euroleague for Life Science

The EUR-Organic imparts broad, interdisciplinary, theoretical and 
practical knowledge and skills in the field of organic agriculture and

Within the current call ERASMUS+ (PARTNER COUNTRIES) PROGRAM provides opportunity to:

candidates from WULS-SGGW to take part in the academic mobility at one of non-EU partner institution
candidates from partner universities to take part in the academic mobility at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW

11th European Vertebrate Pest Management Conference

The biennial meeting is a forum for basic and applied research in vertebrate biology and ecology, methodology and legislation and their application in wildlife management. Its focus is on Europe but participants and contributions from other regions of the world are welcome.

 

 

 

Symposia will be organized in the following broad topics:

    • Agricultural and silvicultural pest management
    • Urban pest management
    • Control methods and alternatives
    • Zoonoses and parasites
    • Invasive vertebrates

ELLS Scientific Student Conference 2017 at the Faculty of SCIENCE, Copenhagen Denmark, November 17 – 18“Global Challenges – the Impact of Life Sciences”

During the conference students from the member universities and from international partners of the Euroleague for Life Sciences will present their own research through oral and poster presentations.

The aim of this conference is to encourage you as students within the biosciences to engage with one another, and allow you the chance to disseminate your own research related to the headline and the three subthemes elaborated below.

 

Subthemes for the Scientific Student Conference:

Global Health – Humans, Animals, Plants and Environment
Food – Quality, Production and Safety
Collaboration in Life Sciences – Enabling Innovation and Entrepreneurship

 

Practical information:

Travel: Participating students must arrange and pay for their own travels to/from Copenhagen as well as local transportation in Copenhagen

Accommodation: Participating students must arrange and pay for their own accommodation in Copenhagen. Suggestions for accommodation can be found on the website.

Accommodation grants: 5 presenting students from each member university will receive an accommodation grant for two nights, Thursday – Saturday. Any additional nights will be at the students’ own expense. Winners of the accommodation grants are notified in September after the review process.

Meals: Lunch Friday and Saturday as well as dinner on Friday is provided by the conference. Breakfast and additional meals will be the student’s own responsibility.


“Innovative Education towards Sustainable food systems”

summer-620x500oInternational Summer Course in Innovative Education towards Sustainable Food Systems – Poland summer 2017.

SUSPLUS: Now you have the opportunity to join an ERASMUS+ financed summer course about sustainable food systems.  

The course (Innovative education towards sustainable food systems) is established and performed in collaboration between 8 different EU universities, and consist of an E-learning part (May-July) with online video lectures, discussion forums, theoretical exercises and quizzes. And an on-site intensive summer course with lectures, group work, presentations, field trips, excursions etc. The 2 weeks summer course will be held in Kiry in the Tatra Mountains and Warsaw, WULS, respectively.

The course:   

Permanence: 15.05.2017 – 30.06.2017 (E-learning), 22.07.2017 – 04.08.2017 (summer course in Warsaw).

Workload: 180 h (total).

Capacity: 4 students from WULS. A total of 32 students from 8 different Universities around Europe.

Price: Costs covered by Erasmus + program: SUSPLUS. Both tuition fee, trip and stay in Kiry and Warsaw/Poland.

123Another success of WUL-SGGW in an international ranking of universities. The Warsaw University of Life Sciences is on the 34th place among the world’s best universities in the field of agriculture and forestry in QS World University Ranking by the TopUniversities.com. WULS-SGGW has moved up a few dozen spots.

QS World University Rankings by the TopUniversities.com is the ranking that was prepared for the fifth time and that analyzes about seventeen million research papers. The ranking also collects opinions from over 85 thousand researchers and 41 thousand employers. The list takes into account nearly 40 various scientific disciplines and, as its creators stress, it is the largest list of this type in the world.

II Young Scientists Conference 25-26th May

We are happy to announce that during the first day of II Young Scientists Conference, there will be a session held in Engilsh for non-Polish speakers. So if you have any interesting research results to share, come and join our event.

The event is organised by two students’ associations belonging to Faculty of Animal Sciences:Interfaculty Student Association of Nanobiotechnology and Student Association of Animal Nutrition. In cooperation, we have created the conference, which is dedicated for young scientists, who are interested in biotechnology, animal physiology, nutrition and breeding.

The aim of the conference is to integrate scientific society, to present innovative scientific achievements and to share the students’ knowledge.

 

Students have the possibility to present their scientific achievements. It is possible to show the results of students’ own work during oral presentation or by making a scientific poster.
